Notes:

Affidavit of the Krupp employee, Wilhelm Reiff, dated 16th March 1948. It is shown that krupp was forced by the persistent pressure exerted by the German Armament Offices to take up the manufacture of fuses at Auschwitz after the fuse shop at Essen had been destroyed. The measures taken by Krupp do not satisfy either the Army Ordinance Office or the competent Department of the Ministry for Armament. While Krupp was at Auschwitz the officials in charge received no knowledge of any extermination operations. Only a small number of concentration camp inmates were employed in the Krupp plant, as this plant never took up production in practice. (13-14)
