Letter dated 28 August 1940 from General Thomas, Chief of the Military Economy Staff in the Wehrmacht office to General Hanneken. Therein Thomas describes it as extremely desirable from the armament standpoint for Krupp to build an emergency plant in Upper Silesia as soon as possible in view of anticipated increases in aerial warfare. In addition an affidavit by the recipient of the letter, Hanneken, dated 23 March 1948, in which he attests the authenticity of the signature of General Thomas on the above letter. (3)
