Affidavit Rev. August Kreuser, 11 February 1948. Beginning of 1944, the Croatian priest Culin, who was allocated as a worker in the Krupp factory, appealed to him, as Catholic priest in Essen. Kreuser described the case to Houdremont in a letter of 29 Jan. 1944, and received from him on 3 Feb. 1944, from Freiburg, where he was lying ill, the answer that he would try and help. At Houdremont's instance, the Krupp firm in Essen then made representations to the German Labor Front, with the result that, on 16 March, 1944, Dr. Lehmann was able to report that Culin had been transferred to the Croation Embassy in Berlin as chaplain.
