Affidavit Josef Draeger of 11 March 1948. Witness was clerk in the Steel Office (Stahlzentrale) since 1931 and in the Houdremont secretariat since 1943. Houdremont enjoyed great popularity among all the employees, on account of his justness and human kindness. The employees of the secretariat, none of whom belonged to the Party, were against the Nazi regime. Houdremont had protected many Luxemburgers against the Gestapo and the Party. Witness gives an example of especially kind conversation with French prisoners of war. (81-84)
