Affidavit by Dr. Friedrich Mehner, dated 14 December 1947. As Betriebsfuehrer of Grusonwerk, Magdeburg, the deponent describes the troubles brought upon the industry and his works by the pressure exerted by Government and Party offices in an attempt to enforce adherence to programs. Only as the result of continuous struggles was the plant able to maintain a proportion of its peace-time production. The witness himself was considered by Hauptdienstleiter Saur of the Speer Ministry and by the Military District Commissioner as suspect, and was threatened by them. (12-15)
