Affidavit by Hans Kallen, dated 15 January 1948. A significant example of Government pressure on the plants: in 1944, Houdremont who, at that time, was already engaged on plans for peace-time production, was disinclined to comply with the instructions to transfer an oxygen plant from Markstaedt to Wuestegiersdorf. As Government commissioner for the fighter program, the witness considered himself obliged to threaten Houdremont, his superior, that he would report him to Berlin, if a delay in the transfer resulted in non-adherence to the program. (7-8).
