Affidavit Dr. Gottfried Schilling dated 30 December 1947. During his stays in Berlin, Houdremont, apart from occasional discussions on problems concerning materials, did not have contact with military supply offices. In his capacity as Special Commissioner for Metals he had to deal in 1942/3 repeatedly with official agencies for industrial materials. He declined Minister Speer's offer to take over the direc5tion of the Main Cartel Metals. A co-operation with the Main Department Chief, Saur, of the Technical Office was out of the question for him. He frequently criticized exaggerated program demands mercilessly6. (7-8)
